'HOW TO WRITE A NOVEL' Fundraising Workshop, DORCHESTER

Join Author, Playwright and former TV Producer Heidi Stephenson for this one day creative writing workshop here in Thomas Hardy county, to raise money for Compassion in World Farming. In this creative writing workshop we’ll be looking at: What makes a good novel? How and where to find story ideas. Creating memorable characters. Writing dialogue. The importance of setting. Story structure. And overcoming the dreaded writers block.

Compassionate Dorset are having our first film screening of 'Pig Business'.

The film follows Tracy Worcester, a mother and campaigner, as she confronts the giant meat corporations that sweep across the world undermining rural communities, human health, the environment and animal welfare. It explains how we can take back control by buying meat raised to high animal welfare standards from the local producers... in short this film is about: The corporate takeover of our food economy.

In this presentation, nutritionist Sandra Hood from Compassionate Dorset explores the ethics of what we eat. Discover how the food you choose affects animal welfare and global development. Sandra will also outline more ethical meat-based diets, and vegetarian and vegan diets that provide healthy, energy-boosting nutrition while reducing our environmental impact.
